The Captain America chopper from the 1969 movie Easy Rider was sold at auction last weekend for $1.35M.
The sale was not without controversy surrounding the bike's authenticity. Apparently there are two bikes that have been sold as the real deal- both have been authenticated by Dan Haggerty who restored them. Haggerty is an actor (Grizzly Adams) who had a small part in Easy Rider. Haggerty admits he authenticated and sold two bikes, but only one was genuine and that was the one that crossed the block last weekend. See more of the story.
