The Fiat 8V Turbina was introduced at the Turin Motor Show in the spring of 1954. Work on the prototype began in 1948 and by 1950 the first drawings were made. The car was completed in January 1953 and track testing began on April 14th, 1954.
The car showed a very low drag coefficient, and the estimated maximum speed was in the area of 155mph.
